The Faculty’s link with the three leading research centres which include creative industries and innovation, provide unique opportunities for students and staff to access leading thinkers in the field.
Art and Design offers degrees in which students combine communication design studies with one of the disciplinary sub-majors offered in the faculty or specialisations from outside of the faculty. Core concepts are based in aspects of new media theory and practice, new media production, information and composition as they relate to communication design. The degrees have specialisations in animation, interaction design and game design. The courses emphasise creativity at all levels of interdisciplinary practice, conceptualization and management principles, international and national industry contexts, and an overall commitment to communication design and the emergent technologies which support its realisation.
